I am always grateful for meeting people who expand my perspectives and views. 🙏🏽 It’s really a blessing to be able to talk to people about A-Z.

In my life I met and really had very very deep conversations with so many people around the globe. And I am telling you every person in the whole world had stories to tell that paved my way. They all were pieces of a puzzle that actually everyone should try to visualize. I call them the soundtracks of my life. Music that just me can understand in its core.

Unfortunately everyone of us also meets a lot of fake ones aswell, who pretend to fit in, but also those are lessons. Thank god I was always able to keep my head up high and stand up again no matter how hard the punch was. I guess that’s the reason we have two cheeks. 😆

So the saying: „Fall down, stand up, adjust your crown and move on“ should be manifested by many.

Don’t hold grudges, forgive and love unconditionally, because we just live once knowingly.

So all in all:
There are not many people who can take pics of me that I actually like. I hate it not to see what is going on on the other side, since I am taking pics from the lense side for over 15 years now.
Normally it’s my tightest friends and family who know how to take the best snapshots. In Uganda it’s normally my lovely friends @asimwemaureen or @faiton12 who take the most footage of my stay there. 🤣

This time I have to thank @manzi_rolland for these pics.

This was one of the most beautiful weddings that I attended. We laughed, we cried and had a lot of fun. And on top it was an honor to be part of the traditional ceremony.
Uganda is like my second home, but getting deep into the culture and traditions is something that should not to be taken for granted. Thank you @asimwemaureen 👰🏾‍♀️🙏🏽

History:📍
Uganda is a mix of different cultures,histories,tribes, customs,languages,..
One legend asserts that the Batooro are indigenous to Toro and that they originated from the Batembuzi and the Bagabu who are said to have been pioneer inhabitants and rulers of the earth.

The Clothings:👗
The suuka consists of three pieces that make the entire outfit, that is, the material which is wrapped around the shoulders usually two and a half meters long, the dress which is usually up to knee length and the kitambi which is wrapped around the waist and runs up to the feet. The men wear a kanzu as their traditional wear.

Customs:💛
Pre-wedding (Okweranga-Announcement): Roasted coffee beans and milk are offered to nine people from the groom’s and bride’s side in a traditional welcome ritual, known as „okuterura amata.“ On this day the Bride price is talked through and the bride has to give her consent.

On the wedding day, a feast occures and there is the religious and traditional blessing before. Thereafter, the guests were given coffee berries, smoking pipes, beer, and later food. On this day the bride and groom give gifts to the relatives and receive gifts. (Suitcases, Juices, furniture,..)

The men of the families sit right and left in the front and just the young girls of the family including the bride, matron (First bridesmaid) and her chosen girls are allowed to bring presents and greet and serve the guests. During this whole ceremony the girls are barefoot, have to walk backwards and look down.

In the end the groom grifts the bride and she is allowed to look up and the cake is cut.

There are so many other customs, but since I couldn’t look up and my legs fell asleep throughout the ceremony I couldn’t see all of it.

In the last 7 years I have been Downtown - Kampala

In the last 7 years I have been Downtown - Kampala just a few times. This part of the city is just too chaotic and normally you need a really good guide who knows where to go and where to stop.

Owino Market is kind of a no no go for everyone with any belongings. So it’s better you go empty handed. It is the largest market in Uganda and kind of a crazy labyrinth.

For years I wanted to take proper videos/photos of this market but going for taking videos or pictures can put you into big troubles.

So this time I was lucky to have a great photographer as my companion. As it would have caused big problems if I would have taken the camera stick, Manzi went for a walk with my 360^ camera. Now he expects from me to learn Luganda to fight myself next time. 🤣🤣
